Feasibility assessment for a humanitarian data platform
A major international humanitarian organisation needed to evaluate whether an existing information management platform — supporting sensitive case-based workflows related to missing persons and forensic identification — could be migrated into a modern, open-source data ecosystem. The challenge was not just technical: the platform handled highly sensitive personal data under strict protection and access control requirements, which meant any migration strategy had to account for data governance and privacy from the outset.

We conducted a full technical and functional assessment covering data model analysis, system architecture, functional alignment, and implementation strategy options. We evaluated how complex case-based workflows could be reproduced in the target environment, what customisation would be required, and what governance structures would need to be in place before any migration could proceed.

Health information system assessment
An international health NGO operating across multiple countries needed an independent review of the system supporting health service delivery data across its facility network. The organisation had been running the system for several years and had reached a point where accumulated technical debt, inconsistent metadata governance, and gaps in data quality were affecting the reliability of reporting and decision-making at programme level.

We assessed system architecture, metadata structure and governance, data quality management processes, user access controls, and reporting and analytics workflows, and identified performance and scalability constraints that would limit the system's ability to grow with the organisation's needs.

Protection data platform architecture review
A major humanitarian organisation needed an evaluation of the architecture and data management framework underpinning a global protection data platform used across its operations worldwide. The platform sat within a broader information ecosystem and needed to be assessed not in isolation but in terms of how it connected to — and exchanged data with — other systems in the organisation's environment.

We reviewed platform architecture and database strategy, metadata governance and data standards, interoperability across systems, and analytics and reporting capabilities, with particular attention to security and privacy given the sensitivity of protection data.

Global nutrition metadata package
A leading UN agency needed to update its global nutrition data package to align with the latest programmatic guidance and evolving reporting requirements across country offices. The package had accumulated inconsistencies over time and needed not just a technical update but a structural revision that would make it easier for country teams to adopt, adapt, and maintain going forward.

We are revising the full metadata set, integrating new indicators reflecting updated guidance, and rebuilding the analytics configurations, dashboards, and data visualisations to reflect current reporting needs. We are also developing training materials and planning a series of webinars to support dissemination and adoption across country offices, so that the updated package can be rolled out with the necessary technical understanding in place.

NCD data tracker implementation, Mozambique
An international health NGO running an NCD prevention and control programme in Mozambique needed a digital data collection system to support individual patient monitoring across a network of health centres. The existing process relied on paper-based patient cards, and the organisation needed those workflows reproduced digitally in a way that was practical for facility staff to use and maintain.

We configured a Tracker application aligned to the government patient card used to monitor NCD patients in health units, incorporating additional data elements relevant to the programme. We then supported system testing and rollout across three health centres in different provinces, developed programme control dashboards, and delivered a training of trainers to equip local staff to use the system for data extraction and analysis independently.
